The Goodhue Wildcats played there 7th game of the season the night of October 12th, they won the game 48-14.
Goodhue received the ball on the first play of them game and went on to drive down the field and score on a Kelby Buck pass to Brett Watson. Goodhue's first team defense was strong all game and gave up zero points. The next possession the wildcats scored on a pass from Buck to Sean Thomforde, Thomforde made some moves and found the end zone. The final score in the first quarter was a Buck pass to, who else, Watson. In the second quarter Watson had two interceptions, one he returned for a touchdown, the other one also ended up scoring by an Eric Ryan run. At the end of the first half the wildcats were winning 41-0. the wildcat scoring came to an end in the third quarter when Chad Meyer ran in for the touchdown to give Goodhue their final score 48. The second string got a lot of playing time in the second half but gave up two scores to hayfield, to make the final score 48-14.
Buck finished 6-6 passing with130 yards and 4 touchdowns his favorite target was Watson he had 108 yards and three touchdowns he also passed once to Thomforde for a 22 yard score. Eric Ryan and Micah Huneke combined for 81 yards on 17 carries and one touchdown, Chad Meyer finished with 28 yards on three carries and had one touchdown.
Godhue is 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the HVL Gold, Goodhue can clinch home field advantage through sections with a win on wednsday. Goodhue can also tie for the HVL Gold division if they get a win and Triton a loss. They would tie with Winona Cotter and Triton that would be great seeming it's their first year in the divison.
